In an attempt to overcome the death of his mother , Ashley leaves for college. There, she meets new people , including a fellow named Binder, who invites her to a party . During this party , the girl knows an urban legend that is circulating the campus - it is a killer who frequents the online world and has the nickname " Smiley" , that happy face he uses when writing a message . He attacks his victims after they repeat certain phrase three times in the virtual world . Until then it can only be seen on the internet , no one saw the real world.

Intrigued , Ashley back to the dorm and together with her ΓÇïΓÇïroommate Proxy , she decides to put to the test this legend. To his horror , Ashley sees this killer and is paranoid about it , wondering if what she saw was real or if she 's going crazy .
